One of the most important things that you can do when you are running a VA business is to keep track of your time. Simply put, it’s easy to get caught up in the realization that the vacuum cleaner needs to be run when you’re working at home; it’s easy, when you set your own schedule, to make the time for lunch with friends and to work through dinner with your family. Part of running a VA business effectively is making sure that you are maintaining a balance.
When you’re running a VA business, you’re going to need to spend some time marketing and growing your business. You’re going to need to be sure that you’re making an effort to keep the books and to stay on top of those activities that are just a part of running any business. You’re going to need to be sure that, even though you are running a VA business, you’re getting things done for your clients, you will be able to spend time with your family and friends.
One of the most important things that anyone running a VA business can do is to learn how to establish and maintain a balance in what they are doing. Simply by managing your time well and making sure that everything gets enough attention, you’ll find that you’re more successful and more relaxed.

When it comes to virtual assistant marketing, one of the things that you need to be sure that you are considering is how well the web site that you’ve created is doing. In other words, when you are marketing your real estate assistant business, you need to be sure that you have a sense of how people are finding the site, which pages are getting the most traffic and how much traffic you’re getting overall, and, most of all, you’re going to want to be sure that you are getting some of the people – if not all of them – who check out your site to at least request more information about your business and what you have to offer.
Virtual assistant marketing, in other words, needs to monitored to see whether or not it’s effective. You’re going to want to be sure that you web site it converting, but you are also going to want to keep track of your other virtual assistant marketing efforts: if you place an ad in the newspaper, keep track of how many calls you get about that ad; if you try something different with the working in your internet ads, see whether or not it helps to attract more visitors to your site.
The more that you are able to track the marketing you do for your virtual assistant business, the more that you will be able to figure out how to market your business more effectively.

When you are running a VA business, one of the things that you are going to want to be sure of is that you’re thinking about the services that you would expect from a virtual assistant. Of course, for many VAs, this won’t be a difficult process; many virtual assistants do make an effort to work with other VAs because, well, many run their VA businesses from small offices and home offices and do need to have some support along the way.
By thinking about what you would look for (or what you have looked for) in a virtual assistant, you’ll find that running your VA business is a process that can be simplified. Rather than having to guess what your clients are going to want from you, you can be sure that you are meeting their expectations up front. Rather than thinking about offering more options that you feel comfortable with while running a VA business, you can be sure that you aren’t over-extending and taking on tasks that you don’t enjoy or don’t have a knack for.
Like most elements of running a VA business, thinking about what you would need or expect can help to identify the services that you will provide to your customers and the ways in which you will provide them.
