Running a VA Business: 3 Places to Look for Clients
Tuesday, May 20th, 2008When it comes to running a VA business, one of the things that new virtual assistants often struggle with is a key element of a successful business: finding clients.
So just where can you turn when you are looking for clients for your VA business? Here are a few suggestions that will help you to get started:
- Look to business people in your community. Whether you join the local small business association and attend networking events to meed business owners or you focus on contacting those business owners that you already know, you’ll find that it’s possible to establish yourself and run a VA business when you have already made an initial connection.
- Look for clients online. That, of course, isn’t to suggest that you just start scanning web pages and sending unsolicited emails about the virtual assistant services that you offer, but it is to say that the internet is a great place to turn when you’re looking to find clients for your VA business. Create a great website, market your services, post to a blog: let people know who you are, why you are running a VA business and what you have to offer them.
- Look to your current clients. If you are new to running a VA business and already have a couple of clients or if you’ve been running your VA business for a while and are looking for the chance to grow, take the time to talk with them to see whether or not they know others who could benefit from your services.
While these are relatively simple ways to start looking for new clients, it’s important that you are willing to take the steps; sometimes the best tools that you have for running a VA business are already available to you.
