While much of the United States is in a spot where taxes are the last thing they are thinking about after Tuesday’s IRS filing deadline, those who are running a VA business know that that’s just one deadline.

For those who haven’t been in business for themselves in the past – those who are still thinking about the possibility of running a VA business – that statement might be a bit of a surprise. “Wait, you mean that if I go into business for myself I have to pay taxes more than once a year” is a fairly common question for those who are still thinking their options through.

If you’ve been thinking about running a VA business, it’s the little things like this that are going to come up for you – it’s the little things like understanding the way taxes are different for businesses and the self-employed that can be figured out during VA business training and talking with those who are already in business that will help you to know that you’re doing all of the things that you need to be doing.

Business taxes are different from individual taxes. By simply making an effort to understand the process and learning about what you need to do, you’ll find that everything within your business tends to go a lot more smoothly than it otherwise might.
