Running a VA Business: How Long Will You Work With Your Clients?
When you’re still in the very early phases of starting and running a virtual assistant business you’re going to have some questions.
One of the more predictable questions that come from those who are new to running a VA business is “how long can I expect to work with a client?” Most of you are going to find that it depends on the client.
Some clients are only going to want to work with a VA for a single project. Others are going to try one project and decide whether or not to start others based on the first experience. Still others are going to plan from the get go on working with you as long as they’re in business (okay, maybe not, but we can always hope, right?).
However, if your goal is to work with clients for the long term, there are some things that you will definitely want to consider:
- It’s essential to establish a great relationship with your clients.
- How long you work with a client is going to depend on how well you communicate (some people click better than others)
- How long you work with a client is going to depend to some extent on how well you do your job. Just like in the traditional workplace, you’re going to find that if you slack off, there’s going to be someone who does a better job and the “employer” is going to find them.
Those points might not sound very positive, but they are all things that you can control while you run your VA business. Make a commitment, put your skills to work and do your best and, if you’re coming up short, look into training programs that can help you to enhance your skills as a virtual assistant because that’s sure to help ensure your success.
